someone who has gone through life ahead of you and invites you along for the ride.

Mentoring is different from therapy in that sessions are often scheduled outside of an office.  You might prefer meeting at a local coffee shop or a walk-and-talk in nature.  Mentoring provides professional support while sharing in activities such as cooking, studying for an exam, polishing a resume, hiking, climbing, managing finances, being active in the community, or practicing self-care.

Mentors are generally hands-on when it comes to helping you put action to your list of intentions.  Support may look like creating a step-by-step plan to achieve your goals then consistently working on the steps together.  Getting started can be a major challenge for many people.  An accountability partner can be a huge boost to supporting drive and follow through.
